Adding Tags to Your Images
Make Your Images More Discoverable
Tags help other users find your content when searching on BludImage. Well-tagged images are more likely to be discovered, shared, and appreciated by the community. This guide will walk you through how to effectively tag your uploads.
Add Tags During Upload
The easiest way to add tags is during the upload process:
- Go to the Upload page
- Select or drag your image(s)
- Look for the "Tags" field below the title input
- Enter your tags separated by commas (e.g., "nature, sunset, landscape")
Add or Edit Tags After Upload
You can also add or edit tags on your existing uploads:
- Navigate to the image on your profile or gallery
- Click the "Edit" button (pencil icon) below the image
- Find the "Tags" section in the edit form
- Add, edit, or remove tags as needed
- Click "Save Changes" when done
Using Bulk Tag Editing
For multiple images in your gallery:
- Go to your My Images page
- Check the boxes next to multiple images
- Click the "Bulk Edit" button at the top of the page
- Select "Edit Tags" from the dropdown
- Add tags to apply to all selected images, or use the "Remove Tag" option
Tag Best Practices
Be Specific and Descriptive
Use tags that accurately describe what's in your image. For example, instead of just "dog," use more specific tags like "golden retriever," "puppy," or "dog playing at beach."
Use Multiple Tags
Add 5-15 relevant tags to maximize discoverability. Include subjects, colors, moods, locations, techniques, and equipment when applicable.
Consider Different Perspectives
Think about different ways people might search for your image. For a beach sunset, consider tags like "sunset," "beach," "ocean," "vacation," "tropical," and "golden hour."
Use Popular and Trending Tags
Including popular tags (when relevant) can increase visibility. Check the "Trending" section on your dashboard for ideas.
What to Avoid
- Irrelevant tags: Don't use tags that aren't related to your image content
- Excessive tagging: More than 20 tags may be considered tag spamming
- Single-word repetition: Avoid tags like "dog dog dog" or "dog, dogs, doggy"
- Misleading tags: Using deliberately misleading tags violates our community guidelines
Tag Visibility and Search
All tags are public and searchable. When users search for a specific tag, images with that tag will appear in search results, sorted by relevance and popularity. Tags also help our AI recommend your content to users who might be interested in it.
Tag Limits and Restrictions
- Maximum of 30 tags per image
- Each tag can be up to 50 characters long
- Special characters are not allowed in tags (except hyphens and underscores)
- Tags that violate our Community Guidelines will be removed
